Hi! Thanks so much for posting this amazing history of ours. I notice that you kind of gloss over the fact that this was forcibly produced by slaves (people didn’t “come” from all over the world to cultivate sugar cane). Enslaved African people were brought to do forced labour. I know we tend to pretty-up our history but that serves no one. This is our true history which makes our existence even sweeter.
